If weeds are rapidly and rabidly growing in our nation’s garden, we should acknowledge that the soil in our garden and our cultivation regimen are supporting (sponsoring) and advancing their growth.  It seems, however, that we are addicting to exhausting our energies serpentining (mathematizing, rationalizing, spinning) this circumstance by defining a weed as “any plant that is growing where it is not wanted.”
